Pond Update

I dug the pond out only a few hours before a major rain storm that brought 40-60mm of rain to the area. Within 12 hours there was a little muddy puddle in the bottom. In the weeks that have followed it has been remarkable to see how quickly life is attracted to the pond.

A few days after it was dug there was a gaggle of Canadian Geese was floating in it. Their poop was piled along the pond's banks.

A week or two later as I approached the edge of the pond a handful of frogs darted from the edge back into the water.

It is also amazing to think that without the pond, if I had previously wanted to water the orchard trees I would have had to walk over 300ft... and now I need to walk less then 50ft.
