Geoff Christou is an Architect and Permaculture Designer in Toronto, Canada, who has been intensely involved in implementing Net Zero Carbon and high performance sustainable buildings in Ontario for the past 10 years, as part of the architecture firm Coolearth Architecture.

Over this time time he has worked on projects that range from childcares, hospices, community centres, to single family residential homes. Some of Geoff’s most recent permaculture projects include the 10-bed Mariposa House Hospice, located in Orillia, and permaculture site design for the Breezeway Passive House and the Sammon Passive House,

As a permaculture designer, Geoff Christou also had direct personal experience because he co-created and stewards the 1/4 acre Balsam Food Forest, a food forest located near MacKellar, in central Ontario, Zone 5a. He has done this in partnership with many dozens of friends and family members have also helped to realize, steward, and enjoy the Balsam food forest.
